Position Overview

The Senior Process Improvement Engineer will play a pivotal role in advancing our lean transformation initiatives. This position is crucial for fostering and sustaining a culture of continuous improvement through the application of various lean methodologies aimed at achieving exceptional manufacturing performance.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead and facilitate lean manufacturing initiatives through ongoing Kaizen and workshop activities.
  • Utilize lean tools to identify and eliminate waste, enhance processes, and minimize product variation.
  • Act as an internal change agent to embed Lean principles within the organizational strategy.
  • Ensure the completion of action items arising from Kaizen events, workshops, and projects.
  • Develop a pipeline of Kaizen projects to maintain momentum in driving positive change.
  • Provide training and mentorship in Lean production techniques, process knowledge, and management tools.
  • Lead problem-solving sessions employing appropriate tools to achieve sustainable outcomes.
  • Monitor and track progress towards key performance indicators (KPIs), consolidating metrics and project activities.
  • Assist operations in creating and managing Standard Work Instructions.
  • Design metrics and dashboards to engage the entire operations team in understanding and improving KPIs.
  • Employ improvement tools such as A-3 reports, Ishikawa diagrams, and Visual Management Boards.
  • Facilitate advanced improvement events, including Value Stream Mapping of intricate value streams.
  • Enhance the program to achieve world-class standards through innovation and benchmarking, promoting self-sufficiency across business units.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's Degree in Engineering (Mechanical, Industrial, Electrical, Chemical, or related fields) or equivalent experience (5 years).
  • A minimum of 2 years of experience in managing and facilitating Lean Manufacturing programs.
  • Lean Six Sigma Green or Black Belt certification is advantageous.
  • Proven experience with tools such as Six Sigma, Toyota Production System, and Lean process improvement methodologies.
  • Strong analytical thinking and problem-solving skills.
  • Experience in designing and leading manufacturing improvement projects.
  • In-depth knowledge of Lean methodologies and their practical application.
  • Ability to analyze data and develop actionable improvement initiatives.
  • Proficient in preparing and delivering effective presentations.
  • Strong team-building skills and the capability to facilitate collaborative initiatives.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with a solid understanding of business process improvement.
  • Ability to train and develop others.
  • Intermediate proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and project management skills.
