Position Overview
The Senior Lean Process Engineer will play a pivotal role in advancing our lean transformation initiatives. This position is integral in fostering and sustaining a culture of continuous improvement through the application of various lean methodologies to achieve exemplary manufacturing performance. The ideal candidate will leverage their expertise in lean principles, operational excellence, and improvement projects.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead and facilitate lean manufacturing initiatives through ongoing Kaizen events and workshops.
- Utilize lean tools to eliminate inefficiencies, enhance processes, and minimize product variability.
- Act as an internal change agent to embed Lean methodologies in alignment with the strategic business objectives.
- Ensure the completion of action items arising from Kaizen events, workshops, and improvement projects.
- Develop a pipeline of Kaizen initiatives and projects to maintain momentum in driving positive change.
- Provide training and mentorship in Lean practices, process knowledge, and management techniques.
- Guide and support problem-solving sessions utilizing appropriate tools for sustainable outcomes.
- Monitor and report on the sustainment and progress of key performance indicators (KPIs), consolidating metrics, projects, and activities.
- Assist operations in the development and management of Standard Work Instructions.
- Create metrics and dashboards to engage the entire operations team in understanding and improving KPIs.
- Employ improvement tools such as A-3 reports, Ishikawa diagrams, Visual Management Boards, and Daily Management practices.
- Facilitate advanced improvement events, including Value Stream Mapping for complex processes.
- Enhance the program to achieve world-class standards through innovation and benchmarking, promoting self-sufficiency across business units and sites.
- Perform additional duties as assigned.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's Degree in an Engineering discipline (Mechanical, Science, Technology, Electrical, Chemical, or Industrial Engineering) or equivalent experience (5 years).
- A minimum of 2 years' experience in leading and managing Lean Manufacturing initiatives.
- Lean Six Sigma Green or Black Belt certification is advantageous.
- Proven experience with tools such as Six Sigma, Toyota Production System, and Lean process improvement methodologies.
- Strong analytical thinking capabilities.
- Experience in designing and facilitating manufacturing improvement projects.
- Comprehensive knowledge of Lean methodologies and their application.
- Ability to collect, analyze, and interpret data to formulate improvement strategies.
- Proficient in preparing and delivering impactful presentations.
- Strong team-building skills with the ability to lead collaborative initiatives.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with a solid understanding of business process improvement.
- Capability to train and develop others.
- Experience in leading presentations regarding projects and initiatives.
- Intermediate proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite.
- Intermediate project management skills.
