Overview:

The Principal Application Integration Specialist is tasked with the architecture and design of applications, overseeing the integration of internal applications, databases, and systems with external third-party solutions. This role emphasizes the importance of maintaining critical application data and continuously evaluating and communicating the application architecture to relevant stakeholders. A strong emphasis will be placed on implementing best practices for the design, development, and deployment of integration patterns utilizing cloud-native technologies.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Architect and implement integration solutions within the Digital Integration layer for both in-house and cloud-based business applications, databases, and systems.
  • Diagnose and resolve complex integration challenges to ensure seamless application and system integration.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including Product Owners, DevOps Engineers, and business leaders, to identify and develop integration solutions that meet business requirements.
  • Create integration flows and APIs utilizing middleware tools.
  • Work closely with the Architecture community to manage or implement the organization's API strategy.
  • Configure and maintain middleware infrastructure to support application integrations, ensuring high availability and optimal performance.
  • Provide technical support for integration-related issues, including system outages and performance challenges.
  • Document integration solutions, processes, and procedures to facilitate knowledge sharing and sustainability.

Qualifications:

  • 5+ years of experience in application integrations and middleware development.
  • Experience with event-driven architectures and systems, preferably in a cloud environment.
  • Strong technical skills in integration technologies, APIs, and web services.
  • Experience in enterprise-grade integrations, data mapping, and transformation.
  • Experience in the design, development, and deployment of enterprise-level architecture (preferably both on-premises and cloud).
  • Familiarity with agile methodologies and the Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC).
  • Experience in domain-driven design within a distributed service environment.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving capabilities.
  • Experience with iPaaS platforms.
  • Excellent communication and collaboration skills.

Technical Skills:

  • Familiarity with integration tools such as Talend, Boomi, MQ, WebSphere, OSB, Databases, Azure Logic Apps, Azure Data Factory/Synapse.
  • Proficiency in Cloud Technologies & Platforms, including infrastructure automation using Terraform, Puppet, or Ansible.
  • Experience with CI/CD processes, GitHub Actions, Jenkins, or Azure DevOps.
  • Knowledge of Web Services, APIs, Microservices, and SOA.
  • Understanding of Application and Data Architecture as it relates to Integration.
  • Proficient in Software Development Lifecycle (SDLC) Methodology.
