Position Overview

As the Deputy Lead for Systems Engineering and Integration (SEI) within the Power and Propulsion Element (PPE) at the John Glenn Research Center, you will play a pivotal role in guiding a diverse team across multiple centers. Your primary focus will be to provide strategic technical direction and oversight to ensure the successful development and delivery of the PPE spacecraft by the designated contractor.

Key Responsibilities
  • Assist the SEI Lead in managing and directing the integrated engineering efforts for the PPE.
  • Collaborate in planning and executing the technical initiatives necessary for the successful realization of the PPE spacecraft.
  • Oversee the development of engineering deliverables and ensure alignment with higher-level project objectives.
  • Monitor and evaluate the systems engineering activities conducted by the prime contractors to guarantee compliance with project standards.
  • Stay informed about any challenges encountered during hardware assembly or software integration, and ensure timely resolution of issues.
  • Act as a liaison for the PPE with Gateway and Co-Manifested Vehicle SEI Leads, stepping in as the representative when required.
  • Empower a culture of innovation, inclusivity, and excellence, promoting NASA's commitment to Diversity, Equity, Inclusion, and Accessibility.
Qualifications

To be considered for this role, candidates must possess a bachelor’s degree in a relevant field, such as Engineering or Physical Science, from an accredited institution. Additionally, candidates should have substantial experience in systems engineering, particularly in aerospace projects, and demonstrate proficiency in coordinating multidisciplinary teams.
