ABOUT THE POSITION:

The Lead Infrastructure Engineer position is tasked with the design, construction, troubleshooting, and upkeep of platforms within the existing technological framework.

This role requires the assessment of intricate technical challenges, formulating suitable solutions to uphold the overall integrity of the platform, which encompasses operating systems, hardware, and software infrastructure vital to the company's user base and application environments.

Collaboration with other IT specialists, including Application, Architect, and Database Engineers, is essential to ensure that all platform components function efficiently, securely, and reliably.

The Infrastructure Engineer leverages their comprehensive understanding of both traditional and contemporary platforms to guarantee high performance and dependability of the company's infrastructure, which includes both cloud and on-premises systems, in support of DevOps initiatives and overarching business and IT goals.


KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

- Oversee the platform's hardware, software, and network specifications in accordance with business requirements and organizational standards.
- Monitor system performance and resolve issues as they arise to enhance platforms in line with application objectives.
- Manage and configure DevOps tools (such as API Gateway, Terraform) to facilitate processes as per organizational requirements.
- Collaborate with DevOps engineering and production teams to update, troubleshoot, and maintain platforms and environments, facilitating the introduction of new features and services into production.
- Identify, prioritize, implement, and sustain automated and orchestrated fulfillment mechanisms to optimize the delivery of key platform services.
- Coordinate tasks among various teams working within the target platform to ensure seamless operations.
- Identify and mitigate security risks to adhere to stringent security compliance.
- Develop and implement security and resilience policies, standards, and procedures to safeguard the infrastructure and ensure regulatory compliance.
- Produce high-level design documentation as necessary.
- Conduct technical research regarding user requests for new or modified systems or problem resolution.
- Manage vendor relationships and discussions related to design documentation, platform modifications, and other changes as required.


EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:

- Required: Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science or a related discipline. In lieu of a degree, a minimum of 12 years of experience in the role of Infrastructure Engineer or a related position.
- Preferred: Azure Solutions Architect, Certified Kubernetes Administrator (CKA), or AWS Certified DevOps Engineer.


SKILLS AND QUALIFICATIONS:

- 5+ years of experience in infrastructure engineering and related components.
- Experience in automated interaction with physical infrastructure.
- Proficient in managing and maintaining cloud-based environments such as AWS, GCP, or Azure.
- Familiarity with monitoring and log management tools such as Nagios, Splunk, and ELK.
- Experience in developing and implementing backup and disaster recovery strategies.
- Strong scripting skills in languages such as Python, PowerShell, and Bash.
- Experience with Infrastructure as Code (IaC) and configuration management tools such as Ansible, Chef, and Terraform.


PREFERRED:

- AWS Cloud experience and certifications.
- Familiarity with GitHub Actions.
