POSITION OVERVIEW:

As the E-Commerce Solutions Engineer, you will be an integral part of the eBusiness Center of Excellence (CoE) IT team, responsible for maintaining the architecture and related documentation for commerce-focused applications and systems. You will lead collaborative efforts with business and IT stakeholders to design solution architectures that meet business needs while aligning with strategic goals. This role focuses on the assets related to the web and eCommerce ecosystem.

Your responsibilities will include translating business requirements into specific business, application, information, and technology architectures that deliver tangible business value. Building relationships with key stakeholders across the organization is essential, as is driving effective communication among business, architecture, and software delivery teams.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

Strategy & Planning:
  • Provide strategic, technical, and operational leadership in support of business and technology transformation initiatives.
  • Contribute to technology strategy and planning; lead research on emerging technologies to support systems development efforts.
  • Foster relationships with divisional and business unit experts.
  • Engage with stakeholders to define business requirements for complex systems development.
  • Promote synergies and reuse within projects to maximize delivery of business value.
  • Communicate solution architectures to senior management and teams through various means.
  • Mentor and support development teams in implementing architectural standards.
  • Collaborate with integration teams to recommend services and integrations for reliable business value.
  • Stay updated on emerging design patterns and industry best practices.

Acquisition & Deployment:
  • Provide technical oversight for multiple project initiatives.
  • Lead technology lifecycle projects including evaluation, selection, and implementation.
  • Evaluate alternative architectures and make recommendations based on feasibility.
  • Develop prototypes of system designs to validate viability.
Operational Management:
  • Assist in creating enterprise-wide technology standards.
  • Document architectural designs and standards for implemented solutions.
  • Create and maintain reference architectures and models to guide IT delivery teams.
  • Validate compliance of architecture with requirements.
  • Develop and enforce system standards and review processes.
  • Support risk identification and mitigation processes.
INCIDENTAL FUNCTIONS:
  • Assist with other projects to enhance group efficiency.
  • Participate in hiring activities and ensure compliance with equal employment opportunity policies.
  • Minimal travel may be required.
  • Work outside standard hours may be necessary.
MUST-HAVE SKILLSETS:
  • Bachelor's Degree or equivalent experience in a related field.
  • 12+ years of IT experience.
  • 8+ years in designing and implementing distributed systems.
  • 6+ years in enterprise or solutions architecture.
  • Experience with IBM WebSphere Commerce/HCL Commerce.
  • Strong analytical skills to resolve complex issues.
  • Experience in strategic solutions architecture planning.
  • Knowledge of data modeling and system interaction patterns.
  • Experience with virtualization and cloud computing technologies.
BONUS POINTS IF YOU HAVE:
  • Certifications in Oracle, IBM, HCL, or Microsoft technologies.
  • Experience with Search and Merchandising technologies.
  • Experience with Content Management systems.
  • Knowledge of various data integration techniques.
