Position: Automation Systems Specialist

Key Responsibilities:

  • Uphold a safety-first culture ensuring all employees are protected while on duty.
  • Oversee the maintenance of material handling systems, including control mechanisms, PLC/PC controllers, and industrial communication networks.
  • Assist in optimizing material handling equipment and implementing new projects.
  • Manage the budget associated with control systems for the fulfillment center.
  • Conduct thorough failure analyses and incident reviews to implement improvements and training.
  • Support skill assessments for technical roles within the Reliability, Maintenance, and Engineering teams.
  • Perform readiness audits and technical drills to ensure operational efficiency.
  • Develop specifications and assist in managing maintenance and repair service contracts.
  • Coordinate technical resources for commissioning, training, and performance qualifications of facilities.
  • Analyze maintenance program reliability through detailed root cause investigations.
  • Mentor team members in the control systems department, providing guidance and training for professional growth.
  • Foster positive relationships with business partners and maintenance teams.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in a relevant field or equivalent professional experience in electrical theory, robotics, and automated systems.
  • 5+ years of experience with motor control systems and programming HMI components.
  • 5+ years of experience with PLC programming and robotics control systems.
  • 3+ years of experience with SCADA systems.
  • Strong communication, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Willingness to travel as required for site support.
  • Ability to meet physical demands of the role, including lifting and climbing.

Preferred Skills:

  • Experience in developing automated reporting and alarm systems for operational management.
  • 4+ years of experience with Allen Bradley PLC programming.
  • Familiarity with project management methodologies.
