We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Senior Geotechnical Engineer to join our team at CTL Engineering. As a key member of our Geotech Team, you will play a crucial role in performing geotechnical explorations and investigations for our clients.

You will leverage your extensive expertise and creative problem-solving skills to collaborate closely with institutions, municipal agencies, architects, engineers, developers, and project teams to deliver customized geotechnical studies, reports, and solutions.

From initial concept development to final execution, this role will guide projects through every stage of the land profile evaluation process, ensuring seamless integration and optimal results.

Key responsibilities include performing geotechnical explorations, site characterizations, slope stability assessments, and risk evaluation on developments, as well as training and supervision of lab technicians, management of equipment inventory and calibration, client marketing and proposal preparation.

Additionally, you will be responsible for training and development of lesser-experienced engineers, tracking project progress in both timeline and budget/profit-loss capacities, and assisting marketing with the technical aspects in generating proposals.

As a Senior Geotechnical Engineer, you will have the opportunity to work on a variety of projects, including infrastructure, industrial, commercial, and unique engineering projects, with a focus on DOT-related (roadway) and airport/runway projects.

Responsibilities:

  • Performing geotechnical explorations, site characterizations, slope stability assessments, and risk evaluation on developments
  • Training and supervision of lab technicians, management of equipment inventory and calibration, client marketing and proposal preparation
  • Training and development of lesser-experienced engineers, tracking project progress in both timeline and budget/profit-loss capacities
  • Assisting marketing with the technical aspects in generating proposals, overseeing quality of work submitted (QA/QC)
  • Providing direction on a project to project basis, preparing geotechnical engineering reports, interacting with clients on technical aspects of the projects

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

  • Strong communication skills, ability to read design drawings, ability to meet schedules
  • Experience with common geotechnical software, self-motivation, reliability, quality-mindedness, and attention to detail
