EHS Program Manager

The Environmental Health and Safety (EHS) Manager plays a pivotal role in overseeing safety and environmental risks within the organization. This position collaborates closely with the Director of EHS to execute comprehensive initiatives focused on EHS compliance and sustainability.

Key Responsibilities

· Design and implement organization-wide safety protocols and procedures, along with relevant EHS communications and educational materials.

· Organize, prepare, and deliver EHS training sessions as mandated by regulations and site-specific requirements.

· Facilitate both internal and external EHS inspections, documenting findings and ensuring that any identified deficiencies are promptly addressed.

· Assist in the development of corporate sustainability initiatives, including data collection and research on various sustainability topics that influence the business.

· Provide direction and support on EHS programs at the employee and supervisor levels to ensure a unified and effective approach.

· Participate in accident and incident investigations, implementing corrective measures as necessary.

· Monitor adherence to safety protocols and procedures.

· Ensure that safety data sheets are properly maintained and easily accessible.

· Keep thorough documentation related to training records, logs, and compliance with permits and regulatory standards.

· Uphold safe working practices and reinforce the safety policies, guidelines, and procedures established by the organization.

· Act as a chair or member of safety committees or councils.

· Support organizational growth and expansion through:

  • Air permitting
  • Sustainability, recycling, and waste minimization efforts
  • Addressing regulatory issues
  • Managing safety equipment

· Stay informed about industry regulatory developments.

· Engage in professional development and training opportunities.

· Carry out other related duties as assigned.

Required Knowledge & Skills

· Strong verbal and written communication abilities.

· Capacity to manage multiple projects and prioritize tasks effectively.

· Familiarity with federal and state regulations, including OSHA, EPA, and DOT standards.

· Safety certifications (e.g., ASP, OHST, STS) are advantageous.

Educational Background

A Bachelor's degree in Environmental Engineering, Occupational Safety and Health, or a related discipline is preferred.

Experience

A minimum of five years of experience in a manufacturing setting, focusing on environmental and safety compliance.

Physical Requirements

· Ability to stand and walk throughout the manufacturing facility for audits and other responsibilities.

· Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and using a computer.

· Capability to lift up to 25 pounds as needed.
