The role of the Environmental Health and Safety (EHS) Manager encompasses overseeing workplace safety and environmental risks. This position collaborates closely with the Director of EHS to execute company-wide strategies focused on EHS adherence and sustainability.

Key Responsibilities

· Design and implement comprehensive safety protocols and EHS communication materials across the organization.

· Organize and conduct EHS training sessions as mandated by regulations and site-specific requirements.

· Facilitate both internal and external EHS audits, documenting findings and ensuring that any identified issues are promptly addressed.

· Contribute to the development of corporate sustainability initiatives, including data collection and research on various sustainability subjects that affect the organization.

· Provide support and direction on EHS initiatives at the employee and supervisory levels to ensure a unified and effective approach.

· Assist in investigating accidents and incidents, implementing corrective measures as necessary.

· Oversee adherence to safety protocols and procedures.

· Ensure that safety data sheets are properly maintained and easily accessible.

· Keep thorough records related to training, permits, and regulatory compliance.

· Uphold safe working practices and reinforce the safety policies, guidelines, and procedures established by the organization.

· Act as a Chair or member of safety committees or councils.

· Support organizational growth and development through:

  • Air quality permitting
  • Sustainability and waste reduction initiatives
  • Regulatory compliance matters
  • Safety equipment management

· Stay informed about industry regulatory developments.

· Engage in ongoing professional development and training.

· Perform additional related duties as assigned.

Required Knowledge & Skills

· Strong verbal and written communication abilities.

· Capability to manage multiple projects and prioritize tasks effectively.

· Familiarity with federal and state regulations, including OSHA, EPA, and DOT standards.

· Relevant safety certifications (e.g., ASP, OHST, STS) are advantageous.

Educational Background

A Bachelor’s degree in Environmental Engineering, Occupational Safety and Health, or a related discipline is preferred.

Experience Requirements

A minimum of five years of experience in a manufacturing setting, focusing on environmental and safety compliance.

Physical Requirements

· Ability to stand and walk throughout the manufacturing facility for audits and other responsibilities.

· Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and utilizing a computer.

· Capability to lift up to 25 pounds as needed.
