The Environmental Health and Safety (EHS) Manager plays a crucial role in overseeing safety and environmental risks within the organization. This position collaborates closely with the Director of EHS to execute comprehensive initiatives aimed at ensuring compliance with EHS regulations and promoting sustainability practices.

Key Responsibilities

· Design and implement organization-wide safety protocols and procedures, along with relevant EHS communications and educational materials.

· Organize, coordinate, and deliver EHS training sessions in accordance with regulatory requirements and site-specific needs.

· Facilitate both internal and external EHS audits, documenting findings and ensuring that identified deficiencies are addressed promptly.

· Contribute to the development of corporate sustainability initiatives, including data collection and research on various sustainability issues impacting the business.

· Provide expert guidance on EHS programs to employees and supervisors to ensure a unified and effective approach.

· Assist in the investigation of accidents and incidents, implementing corrective measures as necessary.

· Monitor adherence to safety protocols and procedures.

· Ensure that safety data sheets are properly maintained and accessible when required.

· Keep accurate records related to training, permits, and regulatory compliance.

· Promote safe working practices and reinforce the company's safety policies and guidelines.

· Actively participate as a chair or member of safety committees or councils.

· Support the company's growth and expansion initiatives through:

  • Air quality permitting
  • Sustainability and waste reduction efforts
  • Regulatory compliance matters
  • Safety equipment management

· Stay informed about industry regulatory developments.

· Engage in ongoing professional development and training opportunities.

· Perform additional related duties as assigned.

Required Knowledge & Skills

· Strong verbal and written communication abilities.

· Capability to manage multiple projects and effectively prioritize tasks.

· Familiarity with federal and state regulations, including OSHA, EPA, and DOT guidelines.

· Relevant safety certifications (e.g., ASP, OHST, STS) are advantageous.

Educational Background

A Bachelor’s degree in Environmental Engineering, Occupational Safety and Health, or a related discipline is preferred.

Professional Experience

A minimum of five years of experience in a manufacturing setting, focusing on environmental and safety compliance.

Physical Requirements

· Ability to stand and walk throughout the manufacturing facility for audits and other responsibilities.

· Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer.

· Capability to lift up to 25 pounds as needed.
