Position Overview:

We provide comprehensive training and support to help you obtain your Commercial Driver's License (CDL).

Key Responsibilities:
The following duties align with our commitment to Student Success, Safety and Wellbeing, Stewardship of Community Resources, and Community Engagement. These areas guide our mission to ensure that every student is prepared for a successful future.
Student Success – Safely transport students on designated routes to and from school and events. Provide on-call backup support for dispatch operations. Ensure safe conduct among students while on the bus. Safety and Well-Being – Conduct pre-trip inspections to ensure vehicle safety. Monitor fluid levels and the overall condition of the bus before, during, and after each route. Verify the operation of wheelchair lifts and securement devices for safe transport. Assist students in boarding and securing themselves in their seats. Maintain accurate mileage logs and timesheets. Prepare maintenance requests and inspect buses post-repair to confirm proper functionality. Follow established protocols for handling breakdowns, emergencies, and accidents. Take all necessary precautions to safeguard students, equipment, and facilities. Community Engagement – Foster a culture that strengthens partnerships with parents and community members. Build positive relationships with students, educators, parents, and community stakeholders. Stewardship of Community Resources – Adhere to effective policies and practices regarding the responsible use of District resources. Maintain accurate records as required by law and District policies. Provide constructive feedback regarding transportation routes, including proposals for changes or evaluations. Perform additional duties as assigned. Qualifications: Candidates must successfully complete on-site training for school bus operation. Applicants must be at least 21 years old.

Additional Requirements: Must possess or obtain an Arizona IVP Fingerprint Clearance Card. Must pass a background clearance check. Must obtain and maintain a valid Arizona CDL, 'Class B' driver license with passenger endorsement. May encounter hazardous conditions, including weather elements and potential physical risks. Must be capable of lifting and carrying heavy materials weighing up to 20 pounds. Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds and pass the DPS Physical Performance Test. May be required to work outside of standard hours. May need to travel for work-related functions.
