We provide comprehensive training and support for obtaining your Commercial Driver's License (CDL).

Key Responsibilities:
This role is essential to our mission of promoting Student Success, Safety and Wellbeing, Community Engagement, and Responsible Resource Management.
Student Success – Safely transport students along designated routes to and from school and various events. Provide backup support for dispatch operations as needed. Ensure appropriate student behavior while on the bus. Safety and Well-Being – Conduct pre-trip inspections to confirm vehicle safety. Monitor fluid levels and the overall condition of the bus before, during, and after each route. Ensure that wheelchair lifts and safety restraints are functioning correctly. Assist students in securing themselves safely in their seats. Maintain accurate logs of mileage and hours worked. Prepare maintenance requests and inspect buses post-repair to ensure proper functionality. Follow established protocols for emergencies and vehicle breakdowns. Take necessary precautions to safeguard students, equipment, and facilities. Community Engagement – Foster a culture of collaboration and partnership with parents and community members. Build positive relationships with students, educators, and families. Responsible Resource Management – Adhere to effective policies and practices regarding the stewardship of district resources. Maintain accurate records as required by law and district regulations. Provide constructive feedback on transportation routes and operations. Perform additional duties as assigned. Qualifications: Candidates must successfully complete the required training for school bus operation and be at least 21 years old.

Additional Requirements: Must possess or be able to obtain an Arizona IVP Fingerprint Clearance Card. Must pass a background check. Must acquire and maintain a valid Arizona CDL, 'Class B' with passenger endorsement. Be prepared to work in various weather conditions and handle potential physical demands. Ability to lift and carry items weighing up to 20 pounds; must be capable of lifting 50 pounds and passing the required physical performance assessment. Flexibility to work outside of standard hours and travel as necessary.
