Job Overview

American International Contractors (Special Projects), Inc. (AICI-SP) is actively seeking candidates for the position of Safety Manager to oversee safety protocols on international projects in Europe and the Middle East.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Supervise and enforce compliance with all Occupational Health and Safety (OHS) requirements as per contract and local regulations.
  • Effectively implement and manage the Construction Accident Prevention Plan (CAPP).
  • Proactively identify and mitigate potential safety hazards through comprehensive hazard analysis and employee training.
  • Maintain up-to-date knowledge of construction safety regulations and standards.
  • Develop and enforce company-wide safety policies and procedures.
  • Conduct thorough investigations of construction-related incidents to ensure adherence to safety protocols.
  • Establish a tracking system for monitoring construction-related accidents.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned by the Project Manager or Operations Manager.

Qualifications:

  • Must possess authorization to work in the United States.
  • Completion of the 30-hour OSHA construction safety training.
  • A minimum of five years' experience as a site construction safety manager, or four years with a Certified Safety Professional (CSP) certification.
  • Thorough understanding of the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers Safety & Health Requirements Manual EM.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office applications.
  • Willingness to work in international locations.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience in the international construction sector with exposure to diverse cultures.
  • Possession of an Active Secret Level U.S. Security Clearance.
  • Certification in first-aid and CPR.
  • Competent Person (CP) training certification in relevant safety areas.

Physical and Mental Requirements:

This role requires a high level of physical activity, including the ability to lift and carry up to 15 pounds, as well as navigate construction sites safely. Mental acuity is essential for rapid decision-making and sound judgment in a potentially hazardous environment.
