PRIMARY ROLE:

The Quality Assurance Supervisor will oversee the implementation of U.S. Government contract specifications in construction projects to ensure quality and safety standards are met.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Develop and implement the Quality Assurance Program on-site
  • Coordinate and control inspection and testing activities
  • Supervise personnel involved in inspection and testing to maintain high productivity and technical integrity
  • Establish, document, and uphold quality control standards and objectives
  • Manage and review the submittal register
  • Verify materials, designs, shop, and as-built drawings
  • May oversee a team of Quality Assurance Engineers
  • Perform additional duties as assigned by the Project Manager or Operations Manager

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Authorization to work in the United States
  • Active U.S. SECRET level security clearance is essential
  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Architecture, Construction Management, or Quality Control from an accredited institution
  • At least 10 years of experience in implementing construction quality assurance programs for comparable projects
  • Proficiency in project management tools and software, including RMS, ProjNet, SharePoint, etc.
  • Completion of the USACE course titled "Construction Quality Management for Contractors"
  • Willingness to work overseas is required

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Experience in the international construction sector with diverse cultures
  • Experience as a Quality Assurance Supervisor on large-scale projects valued over $100M
  • Professional Engineer Certification
  • Prior experience with U.S. Government funded projects is advantageous (NAVFAC, DOS OBO, USAID, or USACE preferred)

Physical Requirements:

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to use hands to grasp and reach overhead, including manual dexterity for operating office equipment and performing specialized tasks. The employee must be able to lift, carry, push, or pull and move up to 15 pounds without assistance. This role demands physical agility and mobility, including the ability to navigate safely throughout the work site. Personal protective equipment is required in active construction zones. The employee must be able to hear warning sounds and alarms, communicate effectively with coworkers, and follow spoken instructions. Specific vision abilities required include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus.

Mental Requirements:

This position requires a high level of concentration in a dynamic environment. There is a significant demand for analysis, perception, comprehension, rapid decision-making, and sound judgment to ensure safety for oneself and coworkers in potentially hazardous situations. The ability to follow directions and meet deadlines is critical.

Environmental Requirements:

The role involves working on a busy construction site overseas, often away from family, in countries with laws and social norms that may differ significantly from those in the United States. There may be occasional risks of social unrest, military action, and interruptions in essential services such as electricity and water, as well as exposure to natural disasters.

Work typically involves a 60-hour workweek, 6 days a week, with 10-hour days. Flexibility in hours and days is essential. Candidates must be comfortable working in high-stress environments and capable of performing duties in extreme weather conditions, including heat, cold, humidity, and wet conditions, depending on the location and season. There may be exposure to construction equipment, sharp tools, power tools, and materials, as well as potential exposure to toxic/caustic chemicals, electric shock, significant heights, and high noise levels.
