Key Responsibilities- Conduct engineering evaluations, coordination, and oversight of maintenance, repair, and construction activities.
- Manage and coordinate efforts with trade shops, including work prioritization, project reviews, and equipment inspections.
- Oversee work orders, service requests, and project management.
- Prepare cost estimates, documentation, and comprehensive reports.
- Analyze utility costs and coordinate energy efficiency programs.
- Provide engineering support during emergencies outside of regular hours.
- Direct project design and construction initiatives, including scheduling, budgeting, and daily oversight.
- Evaluate contractor performance and manage construction activities.
- Facilitate project integration with field personnel.
- Assess and manage project change requests.
- Deliver weekly project status updates.
- Communicate project details with clients, management, and stakeholders.
- Assist in acquisition planning and contract administration.
- Support pre-bid and pre-construction site evaluations.
- Provide necessary documentation for invoice processing.
- Monitor project timelines and budgets, offering technical guidance on contracting and construction matters.
- Ensure project objectives are met efficiently and cost-effectively.
- Conduct design reviews with clients.
- Maintain accurate records in project management software.
- Ensure seamless integration of all systems, including IT, security, and HVAC.
- Prepare performance reports upon project completion.
- Design fire detection and suppression systems.
- Develop plumbing and fire protection systems for commercial projects.
- Stay updated on fire protection advancements through literature and conferences.
- Act as a fire protection authority for regulatory bodies.
- Provide engineering assistance to senior staff.
- Create detailed plans, schematics, and specifications.
- Utilize AutoCAD for design work.
- Conduct site evaluations as necessary.
- Participate in project meetings.
- Adhere to client standards and protocols.
- Education: Bachelor's degree in Fire Protection Engineering or a related engineering discipline, with five years of relevant experience considered as a substitute for degree requirements.
- Clearance: Must possess a current, adjudicated, and active TS-SCI clearance with polygraph.
- Experience: Demonstrated application of fire protection engineering principles, building construction codes, and standards, along with experience in fire safety plan reviews and compliance.
- Knowledge: Familiarity with U.S. intelligence community structures, Microsoft Office, and project management methodologies.
- Skills: Proficiency in fire protection for various laboratory environments and experience with fire department operations.
- Abilities: Strong communication skills, ability to work independently and collaboratively, and capacity to manage multiple projects effectively.
- U.S. citizenship is required.
- Work may involve operationally-sensitive environments and various physical conditions.
- May require passing medical and psychological evaluations, as well as background checks.
