As a pivotal member of our development team, the Senior Philanthropic Advisor will report directly to the Director of Development and collaborate closely with the Chief Development and Mobilization Officer, as well as the Prospect Research Team. KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Collaborate with the Leadership Gifts Team to elevate existing donors to major donor status within your designated territory.
  • Engage actively with donors through the moves management process, guiding them through discovery, cultivation, solicitation, and stewardship.
  • Solicit major and transformational gifts, including multi-year commitments and significant contributions.
  • Lead the Prospect Research Team to strategically guide Philanthropic Advisors in managing their monthly moves management and tracking goals.
  • Work with the Director of Development and program colleagues to develop resources for major gift proposals.
  • Conduct donor visits and organize local events in your assigned region.
  • Assist the Mobilization Team with engagement efforts in congregational and faith communities to identify major gift opportunities.
  • Draft compelling gift proposals and requests to meet or exceed fundraising goals for new initiatives.
  • Maintain a stewardship calendar for donor reporting and engagement.
  • Design tailored cultivation strategies for each donor and prospect in your pipeline.
  • Participate in internal strategy meetings to identify key fundraising needs.
  • Oversee wealth screenings and profile creation for executive leadership.
  • Support the CEO in donor engagement activities as required.
  • Prepare persuasive major gift proposals and donor communications.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned.

QUALIFICATIONS

  • Bachelor's degree in a relevant field with a minimum of 7 years of experience in major gift fundraising or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • At least 2 years of experience in a leadership role managing a team.
  • A collaborative spirit and respect for colleagues.
  • Exceptional oral and written communication skills, with experience in crafting compelling proposals.
  • Strong relationship management skills and a background in relationship-based fundraising.
  • Analytical skills with the ability to synthesize research and develop logical frameworks.
  • Experience working with program staff to compile information for proposals and reports.
  • Commitment to meeting deadlines and working with complex issues.
  • Familiarity with data management systems; experience with Salesforce is preferred.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, including Excel, Word, Outlook, and Access.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively, with strong attention to detail.
  • Capacity to navigate and engage with a diverse workforce.
  • Willingness to travel up to 50% and work occasional evenings and weekends.
