Recreation Program Manager

Position Overview:
The Director of Resident Activities is responsible for the design and execution of a comprehensive activity program that addresses the physical, mental, and emotional needs of residents.
Key Responsibilities:
- Adhere to the organization's personnel, safety, and operational policies and procedures.
- Immediately report any observed or reported incidents of resident mistreatment to the appropriate management personnel.
- Treat all residents, family members, visitors, and colleagues with utmost respect and dignity.
- Maintain confidentiality regarding all resident and family information.
- Arrive at work punctually and adhere to the scheduled shifts.
- Plan and implement activities tailored to meet the unique needs of residents, facilitating participation in both large and small group settings as well as individual activities.
- Ensure documentation is maintained in compliance with State and Federal regulations.
- Contribute to the Minimum Data Set and participate in care planning and assessments.
- Distribute residents' mail, newsletters, and other community-related information.
- Oversee the recruitment, retention, and engagement of volunteers to enhance resident experiences.
- Foster community involvement within the organization.
- Organize staff events and activities to boost morale.
- Monitor compliance with all relevant State and Federal regulations, including those related to health and safety.
- Assist in coordinating restorative programs that enrich residents' lives and support their highest possible level of physical and psychosocial well-being.
Qualifications:
- Regular attendance at the worksite is essential.
- Basic computer proficiency is required.
- If driving is necessary for business purposes, compliance with the organization's Motor Vehicle policy is mandatory.
- Proficiency in reading, writing, speaking, and understanding the English language is essential.
- Flexibility to work beyond standard hours, including weekends and holidays, as needed.
- Ability to assist in the evacuation of residents during emergencies.
- Capability to perform essential job functions with or without reasonable accommodation.
- Employees must utilize a transfer/gait belt or seek assistance when lifting or carrying objects exceeding 25 pounds.
