Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Quality Engineer to join our team at Kohler. As a key member of our Supplier Quality Assurance team, you will be responsible for ensuring the quality of our purchased products and raw materials.

Key Responsibilities
  • Lead the development and implementation of quality management systems to ensure sustainable product and component development.
  • Coordinate with suppliers to remove technical roadblocks and ensure compliance with global quality standards.
  • Conduct quality assessments of potential suppliers and drive recordable improvements based on results.
  • Support the Continuous Product Development (CPD) activities within the Vitreous, Plastics, and Electronics (VPE) division.
  • Ensure compliance with global quality systems and project recording requirements.
  • Conduct Process Capability Studies (PPAPs) for local market purchased products and drawings changes.
  • Identify and pursue opportunities for supplier development in quality systems, products, and processes.
Requirements
  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in Technical Mechanical Engineering.
  • 5+ years of hands-on experience in leading and coordinating New Product Development (NPD) and Continuous Product Development (CPD) projects in a global multinational company.
  • Basic manufacturing process knowledge is a must.
  • Localization and alternate sourcing experience.
  • Designing, implementing, and monitoring of quality management systems.
  • Experience in defining, monitoring, and improving Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) at suppliers.
  • Working experience of PPAP, Process Qualification, and Six Sigma DMAIC tools.
  • Well-versed with measuring instruments like Coordinate Measuring Machines (CMMs), High Gauge, and Vision Measuring Machines (VMMs).
  • Demonstrated ability to drive solid engineering solutions to complex problems through Root Cause Analysis (RCA).
  • In-depth knowledge of raw material manufacturing processes of vitreous products is an added advantage.
  • Demonstrate expertise in applying quality tools and Six Sigma methodologies to manufacturing processes.
  • Customer complaint handling experience with thorough understanding of metrics like UFR and CCU.
  • Field return parts/products analysis.
  • Understanding of product drawings and inferences of various symbols.
  • Ability to communicate at all levels within the business.
  • Flexibility on traveling for SQA-related activities.
  • Good planning and organizing skills to ensure effective project management.
  • Quick decision-making skills.
