Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Staff Engineer, Vitreous Supplier Quality to join our team at Kohler. This role will be responsible for providing comprehensive quality support for vitreous products, leading supplier quality assurance activities, and driving process improvements.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead vitreous products supplier quality assurance activities, ensuring compliance with global quality standards and regulations.

• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to develop and implement quality management systems, ensuring sustainable product development and end-to-end quality.

• Conduct quality assessments of potential suppliers, drive recordable improvements based on results, and assist procurement in determining appropriate suppliers.

• Develop and implement consistent supplier selection and assessment processes, including input into the qualified supplier list.

• Ensure compliance to global SQR system, project recording, and dashboard creation for VA/VE projects.

• Conduct PPAPs for local market purchased products/drawings changes, including process flow, PFMEA, MSA, capability studies, dimensional conformance, AAR, performance testing, and documented control plans.

• Utilize existing data (warranty & shop floor) to assist in risk assessment and identify opportunities for supplier development in quality systems, products, and processes.

Requirements

• Bachelor's or Master's degree in Technical Mechanical Engineering or related field.

• 5+ years of hands-on experience in leading and coordinating NPD, CPD projects in a global MNC in supplier quality assurance and supplier development profile.

• Localization/Alternate sourcing and VA/VE experience.

• Experience in defining, monitoring, and improving KPIs at suppliers (PPM & NC reduction).

• Working experience of PPAP, Process Qualification & Six Sigma DMAIC tools.

• Well-versed with measuring instruments like CMM, High gauge, VMM, etc.

• Demonstrated ability to drive solid engineering solutions to complex problems through RCA.

• In-depth knowledge of raw material manufacturing processes of vitreous products like toilets, lavs, bathtubs, etc.

• Demonstrated expertise in applying quality tools, Six Sigma methodologies to manufacturing processes.

• Customer complaint handling experience needed with thorough understanding of metrics like UFR & CCU.

• Field return parts/products analysis.

• Understand product drawings and inferences of various symbols.

• Individuals must be a team player and able to communicate at all levels within the business.

• Flexibility on traveling – extensive traveling for SQA-related activities.

• Good planning and organizing skills, to ensure effective project management.
