Position: Process Control Technician, Glass Production 1st Shift

First Shift: 3 Days On 3 Off 6:30 AM-6:30 PM

Role Summary

This position plays a crucial role in the production of glass and milled enamel powders utilized in cast iron products. Under the guidance of the Glass Production Supervisor, the technician will execute essential tasks to ensure the quality and efficiency of Kohler glass production. Responsibilities include operating batching, melting, bagging, and environmental control systems. The technician will also prepare samples and conduct tests on materials to confirm compliance with Kohler standards. In the absence of supervision, the technician will oversee production processes and guide team members.

Key Responsibilities

  • Operate critical process control machinery following established procedures.
  • Prepare samples and utilize laboratory equipment to assess product quality.
  • Maintain accurate test records and ensure data integrity.
  • Monitor and adjust environmental control systems, reporting any irregularities.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve common equipment issues.
  • Collaborate with maintenance and engineering teams to address equipment repairs.
  • Identify potential solutions to process control challenges and communicate recommendations.
  • Engage in departmental improvement initiatives focusing on safety, reliability, cost efficiency, quality, and sustainability.
  • Review and update standard operating procedures relevant to the role.
  • Ensure cleanliness and organization of workspaces, performing routine maintenance on equipment.
  • Coordinate the efforts of hourly associates to fulfill production goals in the absence of supervision.
  • Maintain open communication with peers, engineers, and management.
  • Adhere to all safety regulations and practices.

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or GED required; technical training is preferred.
  • At least three years of experience in a manufacturing environment.
  • Strong analytical skills and mechanical aptitude are advantageous.
  • Experience in multitasking and independent work is a plus.

The hourly range for this position is $30.45. The specific hourly rate offered may vary based on experience, education, and work location. Benefits include medical, dental, vision, and 401k.
