If you are driven by a commitment to sustainability, this position is designed for you. Join Kohler Co. and contribute to our mission of promoting sustainable practices.

In this role, you will lead and communicate the material health and transparency of Kohler's Kitchen & Bath (K&B) products across various platforms. You will educate and support the marketing and communications teams, as well as customers, on transparency labels and product choices that facilitate the necessary sustainability-related building certifications. Make a significant impact at Kohler Co. and on the products we deliver to the market.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop Life Cycle Inventories (LCIs) using both internal data and external datasets to assess the environmental impact (footprint) of Kohler products on a Stock Keeping Unit (SKU) basis.
  • Generate Environmental Product Declarations (EPDs) based on existing LCI data for K&B products in alignment with customer demand and sustainability strategies. Ensure timely updates of EPDs on the Kohler Transparency website.
  • Collaborate closely with the International Living Future Institute (ILFI) to draft and manage Declare labels for K&B products, ensuring timely updates on the Kohler Transparency website.
  • Enhance and refine existing tools and channels that convey product transparency for K&B products, adding value for both Kohler and its clientele.
  • Partner with the Marketing & Communications team to refresh transparency labels on the Kohler website and frequently asked questions pages for customers and the marketing team.
  • Address customer inquiries for specialized forms and large projects, reviewing sales requests and transferring information into our tracking systems. Create response templates and extract product information from Kohler's database.
  • Maintain open communication with the team regarding customer inquiries, demonstrating a high level of expertise related to our capabilities.
  • Promote sustainability as a key innovation and brand value through direct engagement with channel and digital marketing, training, and supporting Kohler's sustainability communication initiatives.
  • Ensure timely updates of memberships, licenses, and contracts related to Product Transparency.
  • Design and implement training programs for the sales team and other key stakeholders.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree with a focus on environmental, materials, chemical, or mechanical engineering preferred.
  • Experience in generating product transparency documentation, or a comparable combination of education and experience is desired.
  • Familiarity with Product Category Rules (PCR), Environmental Product Declarations (EPD), Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design (LEED), Building Research Establishment Environmental Assessment Methodology (BREEAM), and International Organization for Standardization (ISO) is preferred.
