Job Description

Job Title: Automation Systems Engineer

Job Summary:

Dorsett Controls is seeking an experienced Automation Systems Engineer to join our team. As an Automation Systems Engineer, you will be responsible for designing, installing, and maintaining computer-based control systems that monitor and control various electrical and mechanical systems.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Design and implement control systems for industrial processes, including programming and testing of control systems.
  • Install, configure, and troubleshoot control systems, including PLCs, HMIs, and other related equipment.
  • Develop and implement system documentation, including diagrams, schematics, and operating procedures.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including engineering, operations, and maintenance, to ensure smooth system operation and maintenance.
  • Perform routine maintenance and repairs on control systems, including troubleshooting and replacing faulty components.
  • Develop and implement system upgrades and modifications to improve system performance and efficiency.
  • Provide technical support and training to operations and maintenance personnel on control systems and related equipment.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, or related field.
  • Minimum 3 years of experience in control systems engineering, including design, installation, and maintenance of control systems.
  • Strong knowledge of PLCs, HMIs, and other control system components.
  • Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills, with ability to troubleshoot complex control system issues.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with ability to work effectively with cross-functional teams.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment, with ability to prioritize multiple tasks and meet deadlines.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Master's degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, or related field.
  • Experience with control system design software, including AutoCAD and SolidWorks.
  • Experience with programming languages, including C++, Python, and Visual Basic.
  • Experience with control system testing and validation, including use of test equipment and software.
