Position Overview:
Zurich North America is seeking a Commercial Property Claims Specialist to enhance our operations. This role is fully remote for candidates located within the U.S.

Key Responsibilities:
In this position, you will be tasked with managing both single and multi-party claims related to personal or commercial lines that are classified as low to moderate in exposure and complexity. Your responsibilities will include:

  • Documentation: Accurately maintaining claims files by capturing and updating relevant data in accordance with established best practices.
  • Liability Assessment: Exercising judgment to ascertain liability through the collection and analysis of pertinent facts, while applying applicable laws and principles of negligence.
  • Policy Verification: Determining coverage by analyzing the relevant insurance policies.
  • Claims Resolution: Developing strategies for timely claims resolution and escalating issues when necessary.
  • Reserve Management: Establishing timely reserves and conducting ongoing reviews throughout the claims process.
  • Damage Assessment: Evaluating damages by calculating the range of damages permissible by law.
  • Negotiation: Formulating negotiation strategies and utilizing available resources to settle claims effectively.
  • Quality Assurance: Adhering to quality standards by following best practices.
  • Customer Engagement: Ensuring excellent customer service through proactive communication and responsiveness.
  • Expense Management: Controlling costs by utilizing vendor-approved networks.
  • Legal Compliance: Ensuring adherence to state and federal regulations.
  • Fraud Identification: Referring claims to specialized teams when potential fraud is detected.
  • Risk Insight: Contributing to the company's growth by providing valuable risk insights.
  • Professional Development: Maintaining industry knowledge through continuous education and staying updated on trends.

Basic Qualifications:
- Bachelor's Degree with a minimum of 3 years of experience in the Claims or Insurance sector, or
- Zurich Certified Insurance Apprentice with an Associate Degree and 3 years of relevant experience, or
- Completion of Zurich Claims Training Program with 3 years of experience, or
- High School Diploma or Equivalent with at least 5 years of experience in Claims or Insurance.
- Must possess and maintain necessary adjuster licenses.

Knowledge Requirements:
- Familiarity with insurance regulations, markets, and products.

- Strong verbal and written communication skills.
- Proficient analytical, critical thinking, and problem-solving abilities.
- Effective time management and prioritization skills.
- Experience in collaborative team environments and building cross-functional relationships.
- Ability to interpret complex financial and actuarial concepts.
- Competence in determining the scope and exposure of moderately complex claims.
- Understanding of the reserving process for indemnity and expenses.
- Capability to devise and implement negotiation strategies.

Compensation:
Compensation for this role varies based on multiple factors, with a starting salary range of $57,000 to $94,300.
