Job Summary
We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Excess Casualty Claims Specialist to join our team at AXA Group. As a key member of our Claims team, you will play a critical role in managing and resolving complex claims for our Excess Casualty business.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage assigned claims across multiple jurisdictions, setting case strategy in partnership with Regional Practice Leaders and Claims management.
- Obtain coverage determinations from underlying carriers and analyze applicability of coverage to claim facts under AXA XL policy terms.
- Establish and maintain close communications with underlying carriers and defense counsel, providing input and direction as warranted, to protect insured and AXA XL interests.
- Partner with internal and external counsel to set and pursue effective and cost-efficient litigation strategies for claims in litigation.
- Assist underwriters with policy drafting initiatives and new business/renewal meetings.
- Coordinate and manage communications with internal and external stakeholders to ensure highest level of customer service.
- Produce internal reporting and ensure reserves are set according to best practice guidelines.
- Identify, monitor, and report on emerging liability and coverage trends.
Requirements
- Broad excess casualty claims experience: Intermediate to advanced experience in managing Excess claims, with demonstrated experience negotiating and settling complex claim files.
- Excellent communication: Verbal and written communication, presentation, and negotiation skills, with ability to communicate and negotiate effectively with internal and external stakeholders at various levels of sophistication.
- Collaborative approach: Develop productive working relationships with insured, brokers, claim handlers, underwriters, and legal counsel, seeking input from others as needed to achieve best result possible.
- Ethical: Handle responsibilities with integrity and highest standards of professionalism.
- Passion for results: Approach tasks proactively and anticipate needs, thinking quickly and prioritizing multiple work streams without sacrificing quality, acting with sense of urgency.
- Intellectual curiosity: Willing to ask questions and explore new ideas, eager to learn and focused on continuously improving technical skills.
- Education: Bachelor's degree required, JD preferred.
