Position Overview:
Zurich North America is seeking a skilled Commercial Property Claims Specialist. This role is designed for remote work, available to candidates located within the U.S.

Key Responsibilities:
In this position, you will manage both single and multi-party claims related to personal or commercial lines that exhibit low to moderate complexity and exposure. Your responsibilities will include:

  • Documenting claims files accurately by capturing and updating essential claims data in accordance with best practices.
  • Exercising sound judgment to ascertain liability through the collection and analysis of relevant facts, while applying applicable laws and basic principles of negligence.
  • Determining policy verification and coverage by analyzing relevant coverage for claims.
  • Working towards the timely resolution of claims by developing case strategies and escalating issues when necessary.
  • Establishing timely reserves and conducting ongoing reviews throughout the claims process within your authority limits.
  • Assessing damages by calculating the applicable damages or range of damages permitted by law.
  • Negotiating settlements by formulating appropriate negotiation strategies and utilizing available resources within authority limits.
  • Meeting quality standards by adhering to established best practices.
  • Ensuring exceptional customer service through proactive communication and prompt responses to inquiries.
  • Managing expenses effectively by operating within vendor-approved networks.
  • Ensuring compliance with legal requirements by adhering to state and federal laws and regulations.
  • Identifying potential subrogation and fraud, and referring claims to the appropriate teams.
  • Contributing to profitable growth by providing insightful risk information as needed.
  • Maintaining professional and technical knowledge by engaging in educational opportunities and staying informed about industry trends.

Basic Qualifications:
To qualify for this role, candidates must possess one of the following:
- A Bachelor's Degree and a minimum of 3 years of experience in the Claims or Insurance sector, OR
- A Zurich Certified Insurance Apprentice, including an Associate Degree and at least 3 years of experience in Claims or Insurance, OR
- Completion of the Zurich Claims Training Program along with 3 years of experience in the Claims or Insurance field, OR
- A High School Diploma or Equivalent with 5 or more years of experience in the Claims or Insurance area.
Additionally, candidates must obtain and maintain the required adjuster license(s).

- Strong analytical, critical thinking, and problem-solving abilities.
- Solid time management, prioritization, and multitasking skills.
- Experience in collaborative team environments and building cross-functional relationships.
- Proficiency in identifying and explaining complex financial and actuarial concepts.
- The ability to determine the scope and exposure for moderately complex claims.
- An understanding of the reserving process for indemnity and expenses.
- Skills to develop and execute negotiation strategies and plans for resolution.
- The capability to present necessary information to propose claim resolutions to stakeholders.

Compensation:
The starting salary range for this position is $57,000 to $94,300.00.
