As part of our Global Specialty - Financial Lines Employment Practices Liability (EPL) Claims Group, we are seeking a Claims Consultant to manage a portfolio of EPL claims from initiation to resolution.
Key Responsibilities
- Conduct thorough investigations and evaluate information gathered.
- Analyze coverage, liability, and damages based on the specifics of each claim.
- Communicate findings and positions to insured parties and other stakeholders regarding coverage and liability issues.
- Set and monitor expense and indemnity reserves, making adjustments as necessary.
- Present cases to management for approval on reserves exceeding established limits.
- Develop and execute resolution strategies through effective negotiations.
- Manage litigation processes and counsel, including planning, budgeting, and reviewing bills.
- Assess potential extra-contractual liabilities as required.
- Participate in trials and mediations as needed.
- Contribute to broader organizational goals through audits, projects, and training initiatives.
- Prepare detailed reports and present updates to senior leadership on case developments and industry trends.
- Collaborate with business partners to analyze and address claim trends.
- Provide exceptional customer service to agents and policyholders.
- Support Underwriters with training and marketing initiatives.
- Engage in industry events to present on risk management and claims topics.
- Organize and lead webinars and in-house seminars for high-profile clients.
Qualifications
- Juris Doctorate degree preferred; Bachelor's Degree required.
- At least 5 years of experience managing litigated EPL claims.
- Strong discipline, motivation, and results-oriented focus.
- In-depth knowledge of EPL claims handling.
- Demonstrated skills in communication, strategic thinking, negotiation, and technical claim management.
- Excellent time management and organizational abilities.
- Ability to work independently with a collaborative mindset.
Work Arrangement
This position offers a hybrid or remote work arrangement, with expectations for in-office attendance based on proximity to office locations.
Licensing Requirements
Employees must obtain and maintain a State Adjuster's License for Property & Casualty Insurance Claims.
Compensation
The annualized base pay range for this role is $120,000 - $180,000, influenced by market analysis and individual performance. The total compensation package may include bonuses and other incentives.
