Position Overview

The individual in this role will gain a comprehensive understanding of the market dynamics and the ethos of Schluter Systems to effectively devise and execute sales and marketing initiatives. The primary objective is to enhance the sales of Schluter products through various channels including distributors, retail outlets, contractors, and other specified avenues.

Key Responsibilities

The responsibilities of the Sales Territory Representative include, but are not limited to:

  • Grasping market trends and the company's philosophy to formulate and implement effective sales and marketing strategies.
  • Boosting sales of Schluter products via distributors, retail stores, contractors, and other designated channels; influencing homeowners, installers, and architects to adopt or continue using Schluter products.
  • Evaluating market conditions and establishing annual goals and objectives aligned with the marketing and sales plans, in harmony with the company’s overall objectives.
  • Creating and executing action plans to ensure the achievement of established goals and objectives.
  • Promoting Schluter products to targeted audiences in accordance with company marketing guidelines utilizing effective selling techniques and sales aids.
  • Maintaining accurate administrative records and files for effective territory management.
  • Managing the responsible expenditure of funds and the utilization of materials and equipment.
  • Completing and submitting reports, expense accounts, and other documentation as directed by management.
  • Participating in sales meetings and company-sanctioned training sessions.
  • Acquiring and maintaining in-depth knowledge of all Schluter products as well as competitive offerings.
  • Efficiently managing and storing company samples, literature, and promotional materials.
  • Completing special projects as assigned by management.
  • Networking and fostering professional relationships with key contacts and opinion leaders within the designated territory.
  • Representing Schluter Systems L.P. in a professional and enthusiastic manner in all interactions.
  • Collaborating with other territories and sales personnel to coordinate sales efforts for company products.
  • Executing all assigned duties within the designated sales territory.

Qualifications

  • Experience in outside sales, particularly with tile installation materials or similar technical sales.
  • Familiarity with Schluter products, territories, markets, and clientele.
  • Strong communication skills, both verbal and written, along with effective presentation abilities.
  • Demonstrated leadership capabilities.
  • Proficient in time and territory management.
  • Proven problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities and projects concurrently.
  • Willingness to travel extensively, up to 80% of the time, for customer meetings while allocating remaining time for planning and training.
  • Valid driver's license and ability to pass a driving record background check to be insurable with the company's insurer.
  • Commitment to adhere to all company policies and procedures consistently.
  • Willingness to participate in relevant educational workshops.
