Medical Records Operations Manager

Role Overview: The Medical Records Operations Manager will play a pivotal role in supporting the Patient Access Director in overseeing the Central Scheduling and Admissions departments, which encompass Inpatient, Outpatient, Emergency, Day Surgery, Auditors/Trainers, and Customer Service.
Key Responsibilities:
- Ensure that staff members are adequately trained and that performance objectives are consistently met.
- Develop and manage Associate work schedules while overseeing time-off requests.
- Uphold Administrative and Departmental policies, ensuring appropriate behavior, attire, attitude, attendance, confidentiality, professionalism, and reliability among staff.
- Monitor the operations of the registration area, ensuring adherence to policies and procedures for Inpatient, Outpatient, ER, and Day Surgery registrations.
- Guarantee that documentation for patient medical records is thorough and accurate, including data entered into the hospital's computer systems.
- Achieve established goals for point-of-service (POS) collections in designated areas.
- Conduct performance reviews for Associates, providing recognition, evaluations, coaching, training, and corrective action as necessary.
- Ensure timely correction of errors and provide feedback and training to Associates for ongoing improvement.
- Document all activities related to patient accounts accurately.
- Meet patient safety goals by ensuring correct information is recorded for each account in the hospital's computer systems.
- Continuously seek opportunities for improvement to enhance departmental operations, patient satisfaction, and Associate satisfaction.
- Collaborate with other supervisory Associates to foster a cohesive leadership team that anticipates needs and manages workflow disruptions effectively.
- Ensure that Associates have the necessary equipment and supplies to perform their duties efficiently.
- Perform various other duties as required to achieve departmental and organizational objectives.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree is required.
- Proficient in computer systems related to hospital mainframes and business applications software (e.g., Microsoft Office), with strong skills in compiling, analyzing, and presenting reports.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Three to five years of experience in Admitting or in a supervisory role within a hospital setting.
This position is full-time.
