KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Uphold the highest standards of patient care by implementing established policies, procedures, and protocols.
  • Respond promptly to emergency medical requests, providing both pre-hospital and ongoing hospital care.
  • Employ the nursing process to deliver a comprehensive range of specialized care interventions and therapies.
  • Exhibit and maintain a thorough understanding of various disease processes.
  • Prepare and submit patient documentation in accordance with LifeNet standards, ensuring confidentiality and protection of information.
  • Complete annual continuing education requirements within the designated timeframes set by management.
  • Maintain operational readiness and professionalism by adhering to administrative and departmental policies regarding conduct, appearance, attitude, attendance, and dependability.
  • Follow LifeNet's guidelines for customer service and outreach.
  • Transport critically ill patients using various modes of transportation, including ambulance, rotorcraft, or fixed-wing aircraft.
  • Provide educational training for both internal and external partners.
  • Participate in monthly departmental staff meetings.
  • Oversee inventory management and monitor expiration dates of medical supplies.
  • Ensure proper temperature monitoring and processing of blood products.
  • Comply with LifeNet's policies regarding the storage and administration of narcotics.
  • Conduct daily inspections of aircraft appearance and report any discrepancies to the base lead and maintenance team.
  • Adhere to LifeNet's standard operating procedures when collaborating with other divisions.
  • Notify the Director of Specialty Care Services of any potential negative impacts on LifeNet's flight program, whether on or off duty.
  • Comply with safety, health, and regulatory requirements as outlined in administrative and departmental policies.
  • Maintain cleanliness of the helicopter, fixed-wing aircraft, and operational base.
  • Foster effective communication among team members, pilots, and the Communications Center to ensure unit readiness.
  • Engage in pre-shift briefings with oncoming pilots at the start of their shifts.
  • Maintain flight currency training as specified by the flight department educator.
  • Perform additional related duties as necessary.
MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS
  • Valid state license as a Registered Nurse in Texas, Arkansas, or another compact state.
  • Current EMT and/or Paramedic certification in Texas and Arkansas (Paramedic preferred).
  • A minimum of three years of critical care experience as a Registered Nurse.
  • Valid state driver's license with a satisfactory driving record.
  • Pass a negative DOT drug screening.
  • Current certifications in ACLS, BLS, NRP, TNCC/ITLS/PHTLS, PALS/PEPP/ENPC.
  • Complete NIMS Training ICS 100, 200, and 700 within 90 days of employment offer.
  • Achieve CFRN certification within one year of signing the job description.
  • Maintain a weight of less than 240 lbs while in full flight gear.
  • Demonstrate effective oral and written communication skills.
  • Exhibit functional movement capabilities, including heavy lifting of patients and equipment in high-stress environments.
