Your Role
Lockheed Martin Space is currently seeking a Mechanical Engineer - Early Career for the Payload Launch Site Support Services (PLSSS) Program. In this capacity, you will engage in various Mechanical Engineering design, analysis, and operational tasks.

The ideal candidate will demonstrate the capability to implement practical Mechanical Engineering principles in an industrial or commercial setting and possess foundational Mechanical/Structural Engineering experience or relevant academic exposure.

Key Responsibilities
As part of your role, you will:

  • Apply Mechanical Engineering principles to operational tasks.
  • Collaborate in a launch site environment, ensuring safety and compliance.
  • Support periodic travel and flexible working hours as needed.
  • Obtain necessary security clearances for the role.

Basic Qualifications
To qualify for this position, candidates must possess:

  • A Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Aerospace Engineering, Physics, or a related field from an accredited institution.
  • Experience or knowledge in Mechanical Engineering operations and maintenance.
  • The ability to work in a dynamic launch site environment.
  • U.S. citizenship and eligibility for government security clearance.

Desired Skills
Preferred qualifications include:

  • Hands-on experience in Mechanical/Structural Engineering.
  • Familiarity with design and testing processes.
  • Proficiency in CREO Parametric software.
  • Strong communication skills for presenting technical information.
  • Adaptability to changing work conditions.
  • Understanding of mechanical structural calculations and data analysis.
  • Experience in test planning and execution.
