PGS Worldwide is currently in search of a Senior Electrical Quality Assurance Engineer to deliver electrical engineering expertise in the production of printed circuit board assemblies (PCBA) and circuit card assemblies (CCA), along with the related system Line Replaceable Unit (LRU) enclosures for our combat vehicle systems. The selected candidate will work closely with designated suppliers to maintain a high standard of production quality for a leader in the Aerospace and Defense sector. This role is a contract-to-hire opportunity offering competitive compensation for qualified individuals.

Position Overview:

The Senior Electrical Quality Assurance Engineer will play a crucial role in supporting our Combat Mission Systems division, particularly focusing on ground combat vehicles. This position involves collaboration with various electronics suppliers to provide essential electrical engineering support throughout the manufacturing process of PCBAs and CCAs. The engineer will be stationed alongside suppliers to ensure that production quality remains consistently high.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Engage with suppliers to address and resolve quality and manufacturing process issues directly impacting production.
  • Conduct thorough investigations into supplier quality problems, analyze defect trends, and spearhead continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Communicate effectively with suppliers to clarify requirements and expectations, and provide regular progress updates.
  • Utilize knowledge of IPC standards, including IPC-A-600 and IPC J-STD-001, to guide quality assurance efforts.

Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's Degree in Electrical Engineering or a related technical field.
  • US Citizenship is required.
  • Proven problem-solving skills utilizing structured methodologies.
  • Ability to interpret technical drawings and assess compliance.
  • Proficiency in MS Office Suite and relevant industry software.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • Experience in designing PCBAs/CCAs for aerospace or defense applications.
  • Familiarity with IPC standards and quality systems such as AS9100.
  • At least 5 years of relevant industry experience.

Preferred Qualifications:
  • Certification in IPC-A-600.
  • Experience with environmental qualification design principles.
  • Knowledge of failure analysis and corrective actions.
