Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled and compassionate professional to join our team as a Counselor at the University of Vermont. As a key member of our Center for Health and Wellbeing, you will play a vital role in providing counseling services to undergraduate and graduate students.

Key Responsibilities

  • Consult with students, faculty, and staff to address mental health concerns and provide administrative and clinical supervision.
  • Develop and implement community outreach initiatives to support student wellbeing and promote the university's health services philosophy.
  • Collaborate with colleagues to foster a culture of equity, anti-oppression, and social justice within the university community.
  • Provide respectful and confidential services to students, valuing diversity and promoting inclusivity.

Requirements

  • Master's Degree in Counseling, Social Work, Psychology, or a related field.
  • One to three years of experience in counseling or a related field.
  • Licensure as a Psychologist-Masters, Mental Health Counselor, or Clinical Social Worker in Vermont (or ability to obtain within two years).
  • Experience working with college-age issues and a commitment to equity and social justice.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Training and experience in therapeutic support and racially responsive clinical services for BIPOC students.
  • Knowledge of historical and current issues facing BIPOC students.
  • Expertise in outreach and engagement with historically marginalized groups.

Benefits

The University of Vermont offers a competitive salary range of $57,000 to $71,000 and a comprehensive benefits package.
