Role Summary

We are in search of a highly qualified and driven Director of High Performance Computing (HPC) to spearhead the creation of innovative HPC solutions. The successful candidate will possess a strong background in systems architecture, distributed computing, and computer systems design, with proven expertise in developing low-latency, dependable cloud-based applications.

This role invites you to envision a future where your proficiency in High Performance Computing drives the advancement of physics simulation, leveraging next-generation technologies such as cutting-edge computational chips, cloud scalability, and AI-enhanced capabilities. This position represents a chance to challenge the status quo, innovate beyond conventional limits, and conceptualize the transformative potential of simulation technology a decade into the future, powered by Flexcompute's groundbreaking platform.

Key Responsibilities
  • Design and implement systems architecture, distributed computing frameworks, and computer systems.
  • Demonstrate proficiency in architecting distributed, low-latency, and reliable cloud-based applications. Develop and manage hybrid cloud computing and storage solutions.
  • Oversee the integration of HPC with cloud computing, including databases, frontend libraries, microservices, and monolithic applications.
  • Develop a solid understanding of scientific computing and the role of GPUs in enhancing computing applications.
  • Manage the use of computing clusters equipped with high-speed interconnects, optimizing for performance and efficiency.
  • Lead a team of engineers, promoting a culture of innovation, hands-on experience, and continuous learning.
Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree or higher in computer science, electronic information engineering, communication engineering, or related disciplines.
  • Over 8 years of professional experience, including a minimum of 5 years in HPC computing, system administration, databases, and networking.
  • Strong foundation in computer science, with experience in Python, Java, MPI, and distributed computing environments.
  • Experience in compiling and installing C++ source code.
  • Expertise in architecting AWS cloud computing and storage solutions.
  • Proficient in Linux operating systems, software deployment (such as Ansible), SaaS, networking, and backend security.
  • Ability to learn and innovate in a dynamic startup environment, implementing industry-leading software solutions.
  • Experience in web frontend design is a plus but not mandatory.
