Responsibilities
As a Nurse Practitioner, you will collaborate closely with the medical director to take on clinical responsibilities within your scope of practice. Your duties will include:
- Conducting patient assessments and histories
- Performing physical examinations and ordering necessary diagnostic tests
- Establishing diagnoses and managing care for common illnesses
- Facilitating patient admissions, transfers, and discharges
- Making referrals to specialists and community resources
- Engaging in quality assurance and improvement initiatives
- Working within a multidisciplinary team to develop comprehensive care plans
- Providing immediate care to patients in distress
- Interpreting clinical changes in acute care settings
- Conducting pre-operative evaluations and post-operative follow-ups
- Coordinating hospital care and patient procedures
- Educating patients, families, and colleagues using diverse teaching methods
- Maintaining precise documentation in medical records
- Participating in professional development through presentations and publications
- Engaging in clinical research activities as appropriate
Qualifications
Minimum Requirements:
- Master's degree in nursing from an accredited program
- Three years of clinical experience in the relevant specialty
- Valid RN license and Arizona Advance Practice Nurse license
- National certification as a nurse practitioner in the specialty area
- Current DEA registration
- Certification in Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS)
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification for healthcare providers
