POSITION SUMMARY:

We are seeking a skilled Nurse Practitioner to support our physicians at our downtown location. This role will primarily involve clinical responsibilities and may also include participation in physician-led research initiatives. The ideal candidate will possess a proactive approach, relevant neurological experience, and a commitment to excellence.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Evaluate patient health status, ensuring adherence to care plans.
  • Conduct initial patient consultations; gather and update medical histories, and monitor ongoing treatments.
  • Respond to patient inquiries and assess concerns, providing necessary guidance.
  • Administer acute and chronic pain management, including history taking, therapy monitoring, injections, and wound care.
  • Exhibit strong communication skills, both verbal and written, with a focus on customer service.
  • Effectively prioritize tasks and manage multiple responsibilities.
  • Foster positive working relationships with physicians, administrative staff, and colleagues.
  • Demonstrate flexibility to work occasional evenings, weekends, or holidays as needed.
  • Participate in hospital rounds and respond to after-hours patient calls.
  • Maintain a professional demeanor and positive attitude at all times.
  • Document patient interactions and care provided accurately.
  • Educate patients and their families as appropriate, ensuring continuity of care.
  • Adhere to privacy, confidentiality, and security protocols regarding patient and organizational data.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS:

  • Ability to sit, stand, bend, and walk for extended periods.
  • Normal hearing and vision capabilities to prepare and communicate reports.
  • Capability to assist in patient transfers, lifting up to 50 lbs.
  • Manage stress from handling multiple tasks and interacting with anxious patients and families.

WORKING ENVIRONMENT:

  • Medical office and examination room settings.
  • Hospital operating room environments.
  • Frequent interaction with patients, vendors, visitors, and other healthcare staff.

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Graduate from an accredited nursing and nurse practitioner program.
  • Current RN license, Advanced Practice Certification, and Prescribing and Dispensing Certificate.
  • Board Certification is mandatory.
  • Minimum of 3 years of experience in neurosurgery or neurology preferred.
  • Active participation in professional organizations and ongoing education is encouraged.
