Position Overview

Transom Capital Group ("TCG") stands as a prominent private equity firm located in Los Angeles, specializing in investments that require intensive operational engagement within the middle-market sector. The TCG team boasts a successful history of investing in, restructuring, and expanding businesses. A cornerstone of this achievement is its distinctive method of providing substantial operational involvement and support to each portfolio entity.

TCG is in search of a Senior Vice President of Financial Operations ("SVP"). The SVP will report to the Portfolio Company Operations Group and will primarily oversee the daily financial activities across various portfolio entities, encompassing financial reporting, cash flow oversight, and regulatory compliance. Furthermore, the ideal candidate will collaborate with key stakeholders to design and implement strategic initiatives aimed at fostering long-term enterprise value.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Act as TCG's representative for portfolio companies concerning daily financial operations and serve as an effective liaison between portfolio company executive teams and the Board of Directors.
  • Oversee financial performance metrics, including KPIs, working capital, capital expenditures, debt covenants, taxation, budgeting, and general finance and accounting functions at each portfolio company.
  • Collaborate with the CFO of portfolio companies to establish best-in-class cash flow management, accounting controls, and treasury functions.
  • Engage in weekly cash flow review sessions and manage a rolling 13-week cash flow forecast.
  • Promote standardization in accounting practices, reporting, and financial operations while delivering 'best-in-class' tools, techniques, and templates to portfolio companies.
  • Assess portfolio companies' financial systems and participate in the implementation or enhancement of these systems.
  • Contribute to annual audits and tax reporting for portfolio companies, ensuring timely completion and effective communication of material findings to the audit committee.
  • Facilitate timely financial reporting from portfolio companies, including presentations for the Board of Directors.
  • Provide regular Management Discussion and Analysis (MD&A) on portfolio company performance to support TCG's internal and external reporting requirements.
Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance
    • MBA is preferred.
  • CPA certification.
  • Over 10 years of progressive experience in finance and accounting, with recent leadership in the finance function of an organization
    • Experience in private equity or PE-backed companies is preferred.
  • Experience in public accounting.
  • Outstanding interpersonal, communication, and presentation abilities.
  • Process-oriented individual with a proven record of implementing process enhancements.
  • Exceptional skills in Excel-based financial modeling and budgeting.
  • Strong proficiency in the MS Office suite, particularly PowerPoint.
  • Familiarity with SAAS-based accounting/ERP solutions, such as NetSuite.
  • Willingness to travel domestically up to 50% of the time.
