Position: Cost Accounting Administrator

Status: Exempt

Compensation Schedule: Bi-weekly

Summary: Lyon Shipyard Inc is on the lookout for a detail-oriented Cost Accounting Administrator to enhance our administrative team. The successful candidate will demonstrate exceptional proficiency in the MS Office Suite, particularly Excel, and will have a solid background in job and material cost accounting, as well as time and material account reconciliation. This position plays a vital role in ensuring the smooth operation of our business through precise data management, administrative support, and budgetary assistance.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Manage job and material cost accounting, ensuring meticulous tracking and reconciliation of accounts.
  • Generate and prepare reports to facilitate operational and strategic decision-making.
  • Maintain both digital and physical files, ensuring data accuracy and integrity.
  • Perform data entry tasks with a strong emphasis on precision and attention to detail.
  • Support administrative functions by executing clerical tasks as required.
  • Conduct research and gather information to assist with various projects.
  • Contribute to budget-related activities by organizing and compiling relevant information.
  • Prepare sensitive documents and reports while upholding confidentiality standards.
  • Document detailed meeting minutes and ensure proper distribution and storage.
  • Coordinate meetings and conferences, managing all logistical aspects.
  • Oversee the inventory of office supplies, ensuring accurate stock levels.
  • Assist with additional administrative projects and tasks as needed.

Qualifications:

  • Demonstrated experience in an administrative role or similar capacity, showcasing strong analytical abilities.
  • Proficient in the MS Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook).
  • Background in job and material cost accounting, with experience in account reconciliation.
  • Exceptional data entry skills, with a focus on accuracy and detail.
  • Strong organizational and time management capabilities.
  • Ability to handle confidential information with discretion.
  • Effective communication skills, both written and verbal.
  • Capacity to work independently as well as collaboratively within a team.
  • Proficient problem-solving skills and adept at prioritizing tasks.
  • Familiarity with budgeting processes and financial documentation.

Preferred Skills:

  • Experience in a shipyard or industrial setting.
  • Knowledge of inventory management and office supply oversight.
  • Additional training or certification in administrative or financial management.
