Position Overview:


As a Financial Operations Controller, you will play a pivotal role within our financial management team, tasked with aiding business units in reaching their financial targets.

Reporting directly to the Director of Business Control and Analytics, your contributions will be vital in financial planning, analytical assessments, and strategic decision-making processes.

The ideal candidate will possess a robust financial background, exceptional analytical capabilities, and the aptitude to collaborate effectively with diverse stakeholders.

This role will have functional authority within the designated business control sectors: APL, US Export, and G&A Cost.


Key Responsibilities:
  • Conduct forecasting and strategic planning to guide financial objectives.
  • Provide insightful analysis of financial outcomes and key performance indicators to facilitate informed decision-making.
  • Assess the financial performance of various business units and offer recommendations for enhancement.
  • Work closely with operational teams to comprehend business drivers and ensure alignment with financial aspirations.
  • Develop and execute cost control strategies, identifying avenues for efficiency and cost reduction.
  • Monitor and analyze discrepancies between actual and projected expenses.
  • Prepare and deliver financial reports to senior management, emphasizing significant trends, risks, and opportunities.
  • Ensure adherence to accounting standards and regulatory mandates.
  • Create financial models to support forecasting and scenario evaluations.
  • Assist in formulating financial projections and long-term strategic initiatives.
  • Undertake miscellaneous related duties or projects as assigned.

Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
  • Strong written communication skills.
  • Confident presentation abilities for in-person meetings and negotiations.
  • Proficiency in Excel for creating and manipulating spreadsheets, including formulas and pivot tables.
  • Working knowledge of Word and PowerPoint for document creation.
  • Self-motivated individual capable of working independently for extended periods.
  • Ability to swiftly transition between topics and prioritize tasks based on deadlines and urgency.
  • Experience in cost management and financial planning & analysis (FP&A).
  • Capable of investigating and analyzing issues to determine appropriate actions.
  • Adept at setting work priorities on a daily, weekly, and monthly basis.
  • Staff management experience is essential.
  • Negotiation experience is required.

Education and Experience Requirements:
  • Bachelor's Degree is required; Master's Degree is preferred.
  • 1 year of industry experience is required.
  • 3 years of general experience is required.
