Position Overview: Client Executive – GTS, Apollo

Role Summary:

The Client Executive, Marketing Lead is tasked with formulating strategies for key regional accounts that hold significant strategic and revenue potential. This role typically concentrates on a select group of high-profile accounts (large, multinational corporations) and is accountable for generating new business within these accounts, maintaining a sales quota that aligns with the designated accounts. The Marketing Lead will also play a pivotal role in supporting the product marketing division, including the responsibilities of the Chief Marketing Officer.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Direct the strategic approach for large, critical accounts, coordinating sales efforts and relationship management activities.
  • Develop a comprehensive understanding of the business strategies, objectives, and initiatives of large account clients, translating these into sales opportunities for Gartner.
  • Establish and nurture executive-level relationships with clients to become their trusted advisor.
  • Manage accounts with the goal of enhancing customer satisfaction and driving retention and growth.
  • Hold quota responsibilities tied to specific strategic accounts.
  • Exhibit mastery and consistent application of Gartner's internal sales methodologies.
  • Demonstrate proficiency in large account planning and territory management.
  • Oversee forecast accuracy on a monthly, quarterly, and annual basis.
  • Maintain a competitive awareness and focus.
  • Exercise fiscal responsibility regarding expense management.
  • Possess in-depth knowledge of Gartner's products and services.
  • Support the product marketing team, including the CMO's functions.

Qualifications:

  • 10-15 years of external experience with a proven track record in consultative sales, ideally within high technology sectors (services, software, or hardware).
  • Ability to cultivate and manage relationships with C-level and senior executives in large multinational firms.
  • Demonstrated intellect, drive, executive presence, and sales acumen.
  • Proven success in building strong client relationships, providing valuable insights and strategic guidance.
  • Ability to comprehend enterprise-wide challenges and devise innovative, integrated solutions that support IT decision-making for global organizations.
  • Thorough understanding of technology buying centers.
  • Extensive industry knowledge relevant to specific vertical markets per territory.
  • Strong proficiency in computer applications.
  • Exceptional written and verbal communication skills.
  • Capability to develop and deliver effective presentations to decision-makers at the executive level.
  • Language proficiency as dictated by territory requirements.
  • Bachelor's degree preferred; marketing expertise is advantageous.
  • Advanced degrees are a plus.
