Role Summary:
The Client Executive, Marketing Lead is tasked with defining the strategic direction for key regional accounts that hold significant importance for both strategy and revenue generation. This role typically concentrates on a select number of major accounts (large, multinational corporations) and is accountable for fostering new business opportunities within these accounts, carrying a sales quota that corresponds with the specific accounts.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead the strategic direction for large, key accounts, ensuring effective execution of sales and relationship management activities.
- Develop a comprehensive understanding of the client’s business strategy, objectives, and initiatives, translating these into actionable selling opportunities.
- Build and sustain executive-level relationships with clients, positioning oneself as a trusted advisor.
- Manage accounts with the goal of enhancing customer satisfaction, retention, and account growth.
- Hold quota responsibilities tied to specific strategic accounts.
- Exhibit mastery in the application of Gartner's internal sales methodologies.
- Demonstrate proficiency in large account planning and territory management.
- Oversee forecast accuracy on a monthly, quarterly, and annual basis.
- Maintain awareness of competitive landscape and market trends.
- Exercise fiscal responsibility concerning expense management.
- Possess in-depth knowledge of Gartner's product offerings and services.
- Support the product marketing initiatives, including the role of the Chief Marketing Officer.
Qualifications:
- 10-15 years of external experience with a proven track record in consultative sales, ideally within high technology sectors (services, software, or hardware).
- Ability to cultivate and manage relationships with C-level and senior executives in large multinational firms.
- Demonstrated intellect, drive, executive presence, and sales expertise.
- Proven capability in establishing strong client relationships, providing valuable insights and strategic guidance.
- Ability to comprehend enterprise-wide challenges and devise innovative, integrated solutions that support IT decision-making for global organizations.
- Thorough understanding of technology purchasing dynamics.
- Extensive industry knowledge relevant to specific vertical markets by territory.
- Strong proficiency in computer applications.
- Exceptional written and verbal communication skills.
- Capability to create and deliver impactful presentations to decision-makers at the executive level.
- Language proficiency as dictated by territory requirements.
- A bachelor's degree is preferred; marketing expertise is advantageous.
- A master's or advanced degree is a plus.
