Sales Operations Manager

PurposeThe Sales Manager plays a crucial role in supporting the General Sales Manager by planning, organizing, and overseeing the operations of the New-Vehicle Sales department. This position is vital in evaluating employee performance and ensuring departmental success.
Key Responsibilities- Set and forecast departmental goals and objectives, striving to achieve them.
- Promote collaboration and teamwork across all departments.
- Develop and manage the annual operating budget for the new vehicle sales department with guidance from the Dealer and General Sales Manager.
- Participate in management meetings as required.
- Assist in forecasting controllable expenses for the new-vehicle department.
- Stay informed about and comply with all relevant federal, state, and local regulations affecting new-vehicle sales.
- Recruit, train, motivate, and evaluate the performance of new-vehicle sales staff.
- Direct and schedule the activities of all department personnel.
- Enhance the dealership's image and customer satisfaction ratings through effective management of new-vehicle sales personnel.
- Ensure that dealership policies and procedures are communicated and adhered to by the sales team.
- Monitor payroll records for sales staff.
- Establish sales and profit objectives for new-vehicle sales personnel.
- Guide sales staff in setting both short-term and long-term objectives.
- Review daily performance metrics for new-vehicle sales personnel.
- Assist in creating improvement plans for underperforming sales staff.
- Recommend termination for any salesperson not meeting company standards.
- Conduct regular sales training sessions as directed by the General Sales Manager.
- Collaborate with sales staff on initiatives to boost new-car profitability and enhance finance and insurance penetration.
- Conduct regular self-assessments for hazard identification within the sales department and document necessary actions.
- Ensure that all sales department employees adhere to safety policies and report any incidents immediately.
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Ability to read and understand instructions and information.
- Minimum of two years of sales experience; supervisory experience is preferred.
- Strong communication skills.
- Valid driver's license with a clean driving record.
- Successful completion of drug screening and background check is required.
