Job Summary

Atrium Health is seeking a skilled Radiation Therapist to join our team of healthcare professionals. As a Radiation Therapist, you will play a critical role in the delivery of high-quality patient care, working closely with our Radiation Oncologists to ensure the best possible outcomes for our patients.

Key Responsibilities

  • Treat patients with ionizing radiation in accordance with regulatory guidelines and under the supervision of a Radiation Oncologist.
  • Monitor and maintain all equipment parameters, documenting any malfunctions and ensuring compliance with safety procedures.
  • Accurately maintain medical records and treatment schedules, recognizing and reporting any patient concerns or physical problems to appropriate personnel.
  • Communicate effectively with patients and their families, providing clear instructions and procedures.
  • Assist with the clinical instruction of Radiation Therapy Students, demonstrating a strong ability to grasp procedures and processes.
  • Provide radiation therapist coverage at multiple Atrium Health locations, including the ability to cover up to two sites in the same day.

Requirements

  • Graduate of an AMA-approved school of Therapeutic Radiology or international equivalent.
  • ARRT registered or registry eligible, with a requirement to pass the registry within the first 90 days of employment.
  • BLS certification per policy guidelines.

Physical Requirements

This position requires the ability to walk, stand, sit, lift, reach, stoop, bend, push, and pull, with the capacity to lift and support 35 pounds. Additionally, the ability to speak and understand English, as well as intact senses of sight, hearing, smell, and touch, are essential.
