Must be Licensed and Certified by the NH Board of Medical Imaging and Radiation Therapy.

Job Overview:

Under the guidance of the Chief Nuclear Medicine Technologist, Director of Radiology, or Manager, the Nuclear Imaging Specialist is responsible for conducting nuclear medicine imaging procedures and associated techniques, facilitating interpretation by a licensed independent practitioner.

Adheres to professional standards and complies with state and federal regulations.

Educational Background:

Graduate of an accredited program recognized by the Joint Review Committee on Education in Nuclear Medicine Technology or Radiologic Technology.


Certification and Licensure:

Current certification as a Nuclear Medicine Technologist from either the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (NM) or the Nuclear Medicine Technology Certification Board (CNMT) is required. Must also possess a current American Heart Association Basic Life Support for Healthcare Providers certification or an equivalent credential.

Experience:
No prior experience is necessary.

  • Conduct Nuclear Medicine diagnostic or therapeutic procedures in accordance with departmental standards.
  • Evaluate relevant information and prepare patients for procedures, ensuring they understand what to expect.
  • Document patient care and procedural details accurately.
  • Utilize hospital and departmental information systems and equipment effectively.
  • Maintain productivity and flexibility to meet patient care and departmental needs.
  • Follow departmental policies and safety protocols specific to the modality.
  • Engage actively in departmental meetings and continuous improvement initiatives.
