Job Description

We are seeking an experienced Cyber Underwriter to join our team in Chicago, IL. The successful candidate will be responsible for underwriting Miscellaneous Professional Liability, Technology Errors and Omissions, Cyber Liability, Media Liability, Architects and Engineers Professional Liability, and Insurance Agents and Brokers. Key responsibilities include:

  • Evaluating individual risk characteristics and determining capacity, attachment point, terms, and pricing.
  • Maintaining and enhancing existing broker relationships, as well as identifying and developing new relationships within the Northeast region with both retail and wholesale partners.
  • Developing and executing a marketing plan to retain existing business and produce new opportunities that fit within the Sompo Pro division's risk appetite.
  • Participating in account discussions, exercising discretion and independent judgment in the analysis and evaluation of risk.
  • Effectively interacting, communicating, and negotiating with all levels of external and/or internal business partners.
Qualifications

The ideal candidate will have:

  • Established relationships with Retail and Wholesale Network.
  • A minimum of 7 years of Professional lines Underwriting Experience.
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills.
  • Strong analytical and organizational skills.
  • Ability to travel approximately 10% of the time.
