Cambridge, Massachusetts, United States FogPharma Full time
Why join us?

FogPharma is a pioneering biopharmaceutical organization at the forefront of discovering and developing Helicon therapeutics—innovative peptides that facilitate efficient cellular entry and modulation of critical protein interactions.

Our Helicon therapeutics are set to transform medical treatment possibilities for patients by enabling precise targeting of intracellular mechanisms that have long been recognized as key contributors to various diseases, yet have remained undrugged due to the limitations of traditional drug modalities.

FOG-001, our groundbreaking TCF-blocking β-catenin inhibitor, is currently under evaluation in a Phase 1/2 clinical study for patients with advanced solid tumors, including colorectal cancer.

At FogPharma, we are harnessing the extraordinary potential of Helicons by employing proprietary, custom-engineered machine learning and computational techniques throughout our discovery and development phases.

FogPharma has successfully secured over $500 million in funding from leading investors in the life sciences sector.

What's the opportunity?

We are in search of a highly driven Principal Associate Scientist with a strong background in cellular and molecular biology techniques pertinent to drug discovery.

In this capacity, you will have the chance to characterize various cellular functions associated with our novel Helicon TM peptides and assist in the advancement of this new therapeutic modality for cancer and other diseases with significant unmet medical needs.

Ideal candidates will exhibit enthusiasm and passion, possess a comprehensive understanding of cell-based assays and molecular biology, and demonstrate a proven ability to achieve results while thriving in a dynamic, fast-paced environment.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Develop and execute cellular and molecular biology assays to assess drug activity and elucidate mechanisms of action.
  • Facilitate the transition of lead helicons to development candidate status and conduct IND-enabling experiments.
  • Accurately document, analyze, and present findings to team members and company leadership.
  • Collaborate across various functional teams to effectively identify drug candidates and expedite their progression to clinical trials.
  • Contribute to and engage with a dedicated team of professionals advancing the field of oncology therapeutics.

Qualifications for Success:
  • B.S. or M.S. in cancer biology or a related discipline with over 10 years of relevant industry experience.
  • Proven hands-on experience in developing and conducting biochemical and cell-based assays, including HTRF/AlphaLISA/MSD/NanoBRET.
  • Experience in high-throughput screening utilizing cellular readouts is essential.
  • Familiarity with CRISPR and/or RNAi techniques for gene function evaluation is required.
  • Preferred experience with immunofluorescence and confocal microscopy.
  • Proficiency in a wide array of biochemical, molecular, and cellular methodologies, including mammalian cell culture, western blotting, qPCR, transfection, and flow cytometry.
  • Experience in managing collaborations with external partners or CROs is advantageous.
  • Background in working with ADCs and/or RLTs is highly desirable.
  • Experience with cell surface receptors and their internalization is a plus.
  • Innovative, creative, and inquisitive researcher with strong problem-solving capabilities.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with a track record of publications.
  • Ability to work on-site and participate in in-person meetings.

As an equal opportunity employer, FogPharma values diversity and welcomes applicants from all backgrounds and experiences. All qualified candidates will receive consideration for employment without discrimination based on race, color, religion, sex, sexual orientation, gender identity, national origin, protected veteran status, disability, or any other factors prohibited by law.
