Senior Research Scientist
About the Role:
The selected candidate will become an integral part of a vibrant, interdisciplinary team, contributing significantly to the development and implementation of in vivo models aimed at assessing innovative cancer treatments within the early phases of drug discovery.
This role is designed for a lab head, where the ideal candidate will spearhead the design and execution of studies focused on anti-tumor efficacy and pharmacokinetics/pharmacodynamics (PK/PD) that evaluate therapeutic candidates in various models.
Applicants are expected to create novel in vivo models and assays to address critical scientific inquiries and provide high-value, translationally relevant data that can guide clinical development.
Key Responsibilities:
- Design pre-clinical in vivo studies to investigate new hypotheses, screen candidate compounds, and establish proof-of-concept for emerging modalities.
- Develop in vivo models to assess anti-tumor efficacy, PK/PD relationships, relevant biomarkers, and key translational questions.
- Oversee and mentor associate-level scientists.
- Collaborate with cross-functional project teams.
- Critically evaluate and present findings within a multidisciplinary team setting.
- Ensure strict compliance with animal protocols and maintain accurate documentation of data and methodologies in electronic laboratory notebooks.
Essential Requirements:
This position will be based at the designated site and will not offer remote work options. Travel is not required.
For Senior Research Scientist position:
PhD with 3-5 years of research experience as a postdoctoral fellow or in the pharmaceutical/biotech sector.
Extensive expertise in various molecular biology techniques and flow cytometry.
Strong understanding of T-cell and/or myeloid biology.
Significant experience with CDX and PDX xenograft tumor models and/or syngeneic models.
Proficiency in cell culture, PCR, ELISA, western blotting, and flow cytometry.
Exceptional analytical, communication (both written and verbal), and organizational skills, including proficiency in PowerPoint and commonly used data analysis software such as Excel and Prism.
A highly motivated, inquisitive, and innovative individual who excels in a collaborative work environment and can effectively communicate within multidisciplinary project teams.
Desirable Requirements:
A robust background and expertise in cancer immunology is preferred.
