Job Summary

We are seeking a skilled Monitor Technician to join our team at Houston Methodist Hospital. As a Monitor Technician, you will play a critical role in providing high-quality patient care by performing accurate EKG rhythm interpretation and other electrocardiography functions.

Key Responsibilities
  • Perform accurate EKG rhythm interpretation and other electrocardiography functions to support the interprofessional healthcare team.
  • Maintain competency in electrocardiography (EKG), monitoring/computer skills, and pulse oximetry (SpO2) as appropriate.
  • Employ effective, prompt communication throughout the hospital complex and provide direct patient care by performing patient preparation for monitoring.
  • Promote a positive work environment with the interprofessional care team to achieve optimal department results.
  • Collaborate with all members of the patient care team by actively communicating and reporting pertinent patient care information and data in a comprehensive manner.
Requirements
  • High School diploma or equivalent education.
  • EKG interpretation skills.
  • Prior healthcare and/or medical terminology experience preferred.
  • Certified Cardiographic Technician (CCI) or equivalent certification within 1 year.
