Key ResponsibilitiesThe Echo Vascular Technician is responsible for performing high-quality non-invasive vascular ultrasound examinations in accordance with established protocols. Key duties include:
- Maintaining compliance logs for departmental standards.
- Engaging in performance improvement initiatives.
- Obtaining diagnostic images that meet quality standards.
- Ensuring all exam orders are complete and accurate.
- Managing document scanning and labeling, addressing quality assurance issues promptly.
- Validating and entering orders in the system accurately.
- Participating in accreditation and quality assurance processes.
- Transporting patients as needed.
- Preparing and distributing preliminary reports as per lab protocols.
Qualifications
- Basic Cardiac Life Support certification required within 30 days of employment.
- Graduation from a vocational school.
- Registered Diagnostic Cardiac Sonographer or Registered Vascular Technician (RVT) certification is preferred.
- A Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field is advantageous.
- Experience in an acute care hospital setting performing non-invasive vascular ultrasound procedures is preferred.
