Position Summary
The role involves efficiently managing ambulatory patients for initial injuries and illnesses, physical examinations, testing, and follow-up visits. The individual will collaborate with other clinical team members to deliver quality patient care. Responsibilities include front desk coverage, answering phone calls, scheduling appointments, and processing patients. The ideal candidate will be a proactive team player who interacts positively with all staff members.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities
- Introduces oneself when escorting patients to examination rooms, verifies patient information, and prepares them for the provider's examination according to departmental protocols.
- Conducts comprehensive vital sign assessments, audiometry, spirometry, vision testing, lab specimen collection, drug testing, and breath alcohol testing in a timely and precise manner to ensure high-quality patient care.
- Maintains well-stocked examination rooms, routinely checks supply and medication expiration dates, and follows proper procedures for reordering supplies.
- Adheres to departmental policies and procedures.
- Performs daily quality assurance checks on all necessary equipment and logs results in a spreadsheet as per Point of Care policies.
- Completes all department-specific competencies, maintains required licenses, and finishes Hospital HealthStream training.
- Upholds high standards of Service Excellence as perceived by both internal and external clients, customers, and colleagues. Processes Workers Compensation referrals in accordance with departmental policies.
- Registers patients, accurately obtaining and entering demographic and job history information into the system for registration, billing, and tracking purposes. Understands the database functionalities and complies with all registration requirements.
- Processes and distributes incoming fax documents following departmental protocols.
- May occasionally assist the provider/department with onsite examinations, laboratory blood draws, influenza clinics, or other testing as requested by client companies.
- Will demonstrate effective teamwork and appropriate interactions with all staff members.
- Covers both office locations to maintain competencies and skills required in each setting.
- Performs other job-related duties as assigned.

Minimum Qualifications
- 2 years of experience in a clinical environment, preferably in Occupational Medicine or Primary Care.
- Medical Assistant certification is highly preferred.
- Effective communication skills, phlebotomy competency, and Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required. Experience in EKGs, urinalysis, and vision testing is highly preferred.
- Excellent customer service and telephone etiquette.
- Proficient in electronic health records.

Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience in an ambulatory office-based physician practice, preferably in Primary Care or Occupational Medicine.
- Knowledge and use of Electronic Health Records.
- Familiarity with diagnostic testing relevant to Primary Care or Occupational Medicine.
